The Local Area

Our organisation covers the geographical area of north Buckinghamshire and part of South Oxfordshire (wards of Aston Rowant, Chinnor and Thame North and Thame South); this includes two principal towns – Aylesbury and Buckingham – but is primarily made up of smaller and more rural towns and villages.

We split our work into three geographical areas within Aylesbury Vale – North Locality, Central Locality and South Locality. These localities ensure that services are commissioned to meet the requirements of their patients. Each Locality appoints a Clinical Locality Lead to facilitate, encourage and develop co-operation between the Practices. Each locality meets together monthly.

We serve a population of approximately 200,000 through 19 member practices across the three localities. The north Buckinghamshire area falls entirely within the boundary of Aylesbury Vale District Council and Buckinghamshire County Council.
